Re: Marcus Rashford
Now if Morrisons only would pay a better wage and stop employing workers on very small hours which in turn makes then claim top ups out of the system plus lower some prices on food it would help. But then again they are not making billions every month so its quite understandable.

Rls, it is common knowledge amongst dogs that they only retrieve the ball because humans like throwing it.

Re: Marcus Rashford
Good for him

We often hear people saying poor people should be able to cook simple better meals from fresh ingredients & he is doing something to help that.
And like it or not he is someone people will listen to rather than some government minister

What a top lad. Using his position for good and winding up people in the process. You love to see it

If I wanted the opinion of someone who chased a ball, I'd ask my dog.

Did it not strike you that prof was almost certainly lying?

Re: Marcus Rashford
I once had a political philosophy prof with a couple young children say:

"I would rather my kids be illiterate than learn to read using the Harry Potter books."

He got lots of gasps and I knew I would enjoy the class.

More seriously Harry Potter's adventures at what is a lot like Oxford seem fine though I never read them. On gut instinct I would think they seem even more so since Rowling has found religion and feels the need to revise them.

I guess it’s better than nothing if retarded adults are reading kiddies books
Same as watching kiddies films like Star Wars I suppose

Re: Marcus Rashford
As said I think the thing about ‘affording’ books is a bit of a red herring
I’m guessing kids don’t read because they don’t have the example from their parents or it’s not cool in a world of screens watching banal shit and general social media bollocks.
I think the Harry Potter books over the last few years have shown kids WILL read if engaged.

A professional footballer encouraging reading can help that and can only be a good thing.

Perhaps Rashfords next role could be to encourage kids to speak clearly , pull their trousers up and to not spit in the street

I did a masters program with a lot of library studies students. I am keenly aware.

You know a big reason why libraries have been closing?

Because of the availability of books on the internet, a massive amount of books are public domain, including a huge amount of children's classics.

Pretending that schools don't have libraries, if you have a computer or even a phone, you have something to read. Depends on your desire and ability not be distracted by videos and games.

Lee Trundle 2:57 Wed Nov 18
Re: Marcus Rashford
"800 libraries closed since 2010...."

And probably replaced by the hundreds and hundreds of FREE phone box libraries that are pretty much everywhere now.
